1. Re1+, followed by Qxg2+ looks good.
1.-,Re1+
2.Rxe1,Qxg2+
3.Kxg2,Nxe1+
1… Re1+ !
2. RxR QxB+
now, 3. KxQ loses to 3… Nxe1+
and 3. Ke2 loses to 3… Nxd4+
Te1 Txe1 Dxg2 Kxg2 Sxe1+

Re1 RxR
QxB Black folds
Arctic Knight
Re1+ Re1
Qg2: Kg2: (or Ke2 Re8 and Re1:)
Ne1:+ and
Nc2:
1 .., Re1+
2. R x e1 (forced), Q x g2+
Now,
(a) 3. K x g2, N x e1+
4/ K any, N x Q
Black is up a piece.
(b) 3. Ke2, N x d4 + picks up the Queen leaving Black up a Q and two pawns for a Rook
Re1+ Re1
Qg2:+ Kg2 (or Ke2 Re8+ and Re1:)
Ne1:+ and
Nc2:
Black wins
1…Re1+
2 Rxe1, Qxg2+
3.Kxg2, Nxe1+
and 4…Nxc2
winning a piece.
1.Re1+ Rxe1 2.Qxg2+ seems to work!
2… Kxg2 3.Nxe1 or 2…Ke2 3.Nxd4
Kind regards,
PdV
Nice. 1. … Re1+!! starts a pretty combination.
2. Rxe1 Qxg2+
3. Kxg2 Nxe1+
4. Kg3 Nxc2
and white is a full minor piece down (and perhaps a few pawns in the b/c/d files will get exchanged too).
3. Ke2 is even worse, as after 3. … Re8+, white will most probably be checkmated or at the very least will lose his queen. eg:
4. Kd1 Rxe1#
Or:
4. Kd3 Nxe1+
5. Kc3 Nxc2
and I think white cannot avoid checkmate for much longer.
1. ..Re1+
2. Rxe1 Qxg2+
3. Kxg2 Nxe1+
winning the queen and going up a piece.
I don’t like puzzles where the side to move is up on material
… Re1+
Re1 QxB
KxB Ne1+
Hmm I almost gave up since i didn`t notice what to do .
I even pressed the end button to try to find the solution on the bottom of the page but that didn`t help.
Then I decided to try again and woohoo i think i got it.It seems like giving up too early isn`t a successful technique for solving tactics quizzes.
Re1+ intending Qxg2+ then Nxe1+
Re1+ ,then QxB+, and then KxR+
winning a piece
