Just like yesterday, Anand once again scored 1.5 point in 2 games on the second day. The only difference is he won with Black today. The score after 4 games is 3 – 1 in favor of the World Champion. Shirov has to win both games tomorrow just to tie things up.

Anand is on Form! Pretty amazing watching him destroy Shirov like this. Fun…but still amazing to watch.
these pages are so long it takes 5 minutes to load…
I’ve really enjoyed these games, great entertainment value. Shirov has crazy ideas that don’t always pay off. When they do, it’s great to see. Anand looks in total control. He’s playing very precise chess. Shirov is still the genius-artist, trying ideas others wouldn’t think of. Shirov is a very creative player, he doesn’t just blast out computer moves which I really like about him. Hey Wolverine… these pages are slow with Firefox, but a lot faster with Chrome! 🙂
Anand with Black plays Caro-Kann and takes down Shirov in 20 minutes and under 20 moves!
Are you kidding me?
Hello Geniusus out there: Can somebody explain why did Shirov resigned? If you dont know dont show of that it is easy to see. No BS please. I need to know why.
Shirov should consider castling occasionally.
Anand seemed to have unleashed a novelty in his third game against Shirov as Black, which really un-nerved Shirov and surprised the chess fraternity as a whole. I guess that’s what brought Shirov down so quickly.

Yes, 6…c5 could put an end to the c4 line in the bayonet variation, as it dissolved the center very favorably for black. The difference in king safety was striking.
