Come on, Vohaul. Show us something better than the trivial Nxd6.
Nxd6 appears to be best
1.Rh3 Rg7 2.Rg3!
Didn’t notice the clue: Rh3 and Rg3 were the first two candidates I looked at, but it took me awhile to combine them….
2…Rg6 3.Nxd6 ouch
Duh–the Nd6 just hangs–back to drawing board….
I don’t see it after 3.Nxd6 Bxd6, Bill Brock.
I think on the way of 1.Nxd6 Rg6 (1…Rg7 2.Rg3 Bf8 3.Nxc8 Rxc8 4.Qxf6) 2.Nxf7+ Kg8 3.Rg3 Rxg3 (3…Kxf7 4.Qxh7 Kf8 5.Qxg6)4.hxg3 Kxf7 5.Qxh7+ Ke8 6.Nb5 Ne5 7.Be2 Nd7 8.Rd1
Susan, don’t you forget something? It’s Friday! It’s open forum day!
Well…the Knight can’t be captured because of the threat 2.Qxf6 and 3.Rg3…so…still working it out…
1. Nxd6 Rg6 2. Nxf7+ Kg8 3. Rg3 Rxg3 4. hxg3 Kxf7 5. Be2! Ke8 6. Nb5 Qc5 7. Rd1 Qg5+ 8. Qxg5 fxg5 9. Nc7+ Kf8 10. Nxa8 and White is winning.
@Lantonov
after 4…Kxf7 White has 5. Qh5+ followed by Qh8 and Rh7 mate
@Kamargov
4…Kxf7 5.Qh5+ Kf8 and can’t 6.Qh8+ because of pawn at h7.
1. Nxd6 Rg6 2. Nxf7+ Kg8 3. Rg3 Rxg3 4. hxg3 Kxf7 5. Be2! Qc5 6. Nb5 Qc5 7. Bh5+ Kg8 8. Nd5! Nd4 9. c3 and White is winning.
Anon, I believe 5… Ke8 is better.

Wrong. After 6. — exd5 Black is up 2 pieces for 3 pawns and is winning.
For example
7. Qd2 Qa5
8. Qxd5 Qxd5
9. exd5 Nb4
OOPS
I misread 6. Nb5 as Nd5.
Still, a 9 move combination to go up the exchange can’t be what Susan wanted us to find.
