c4 Nb6
c5 Nd5
e4 and white wins the knight
Strange looking opening for black as his four moves so far have been knight moves. The game probably went like this (or some other legal permutation of the moves)
1.d4 Nf6
2.Nf3 Na6
3.d5 Nb4
4.a3 Nbxd5
Because of that unusual opening, the d5 knight does not have a lot of squares so the solution was fairly simple
5.c4 starts a sequence for white to win a knight
5…Nb6 the only flight square
6.c5 Nbd5
and we have the same position as the beginning of the puzzle except the c pawn is now on c5 so the d5 knight is trapped
7.e4 yet again attacking the knight
7…Nxe4 leaving the protection of his fellow knight
8.Qxd5 and white is up a piece.
However black does have 2 center pawns for it so he should definitely continue. Engines would probably evaluate the end position at around +1, and with most of the pieces still on the board he can still generate opportunities. However, given the wierd opening play from black and the way white exploited this by baiting white to grab material, I would definitely say that the player with the white pieces is a far stronger player and should win easily.
1. c4 Nb6 2. c5 Nbd5 3. e4! and one of two Knights is dying!
C4 then c5 then e4 gets the knight
1.c4 Nb6
2.c5 Nbd5
3.e4 wins a piece dor white. In addition white is far ahead in development.
No idea.
1. c4 b6 2. c5 Nbd5 3. e4 wins a piece for the e-pawn. Black seems to have no way to save both his N’s.
1. c4 Nb6 2. c5 Nd5 3. e4 1-0
wow!
seems like black is losing a piece!!
c4 Nb6 c5 Nd5 e4!
1. c4 Nb6 2. c5
but black can play 2. … Nc4, whence White wins by 3. Qa4
