Miss Viet Nam World joins Olympic torch ceremony

HA NOI — Miss Viet Nam World 2007 Ngo Phuong Lan will take part in the passing of the torch ahead of the London Olympics in June.
“I am very honoured to be invited to take part in this event. The path for the torchlight procession is not very long, so I spend time running every day to exercise,” Lan said.
Lan will join Vietnamese chess grandmaster Le Quang Liem and thousands of other outstanding people in the world in performing this sporting ritual.
The passing of the torch is known as one of the most important events before the opening hour of the Olympics.-VNS
