Time Control: Game/75, Delay/5, Swiss System

Unless a clock with time delay is not at all available, all clocks will be set for ”time control” in minutes and 5 seconds time delay. Players using a clock without time delay should know that ”Insufficient Losing Chances” claims will be very conservatively interpreted in PBCC events.

Round Times Saturday: 11:00am – 2:30pm – 6:30pm

Round Times Sunday: 9:30am – 1:00pm

Byes: One “half-point” bye is available for the first round only (Saturday 11:00), to use this half-point bye you MUST PRE-REGISTER (not to be confused with “Pre-Tournament Notification” where no money changes hands), check or money order must be received by the PBCC by 7/8/2009.

You must contact us (Email or Phone) by 7/8/2009, 7:00 p.m. and give us your name and USCF ID# so we may verify your USCF membership and rating. Then, if you are not present at pairing time for round one, you will NOT be entered or paired.

• Total Cash payout 85% of Gross Receipts
• 1st place OVERALL – 25%, 2nd place – 15%, 3rd Place – 10%
• 1st place U/1600 – 20%, 2nd place – 10%, 3rd Place – 5%

UNRATED PLAYERS are not eligable for U/1600 prizes

An U/1600 player who qualifies for an Open prize can take choose which prize to accept, but cannot win both. If he/she takes the Open prize, the next best U/1600 performance will get the prize and honors.

Ties, for any non-cash awards/prizes/honors will be decided;
1st – The head to head results of the players involved. 3rd – Solkoff
2nd – Average Opposition 4th – Cumulative Score

This is a rated tournament and you must belong to the United States Chess Federation (USCF) to participate. USCF Membership is available on-line at www.uschess.org. Please make sure to register as a member of the USCF prior to the tournament. WE DO NOT process on-site USCF membership.

Just mention “chess” to get the chess rate of $99.00 for July 10 & 11, This rate includes a Suite with a King size bed and a double size sleeper sofa. Each suite is equipped with a full size refrigerator, a microwave, a two burner stove top, a coffee pot, a toaster, dishes and a dishwasher.

The hotel offers wireless internet and a business center with use of two computers and printers. There is also an exercise room which is accessible 24 hours a day and a market containing groceries. On weekends, between 7:00 and 10:00 a.m. a complimentary hot breakfast.
