NY Governor Elliot Spitzer’s resignation will be effective on Monday, March 17. The official announcement is expected to be made at around 11:30 AM (NY time) today.
It has been reported that Lt. Gov. David Paterson made the request for the resignation to be effective at that time so he could have more time to handle the transitions.
He would become New York’s first African American governor and the first who is legally blind.
