I disagree. If someone is in this much distress they should never be allowed to continue. There is a reason why her body would not allow itself to continue and she may have done permanent damage to her body by continuing. I am not speaking as a layman but rather I am the son of a Professor of Sports Medicine. I have read some of my father’s books on exercise, and these books indicate that runners can collapse like she did due to dehydration, hyponatremia (excessive fluid intake with too little salt in the blood), heat stroke, or even because she has suffered a heart attack or stroke ! She should have listened to her body and stopped running,so she could run another day.
