how old is nakamura?
He will be 20 in December. Hopefully, he can continue his strong play, win the tournament. I think if he can get some more invitations to strong tournaments, he will be motivated to improve and hopefully move towards 2700+.
the games are terrific by the way. not just the queen sac but the king walk too!
He is a great talent and I wish him a lot of success!
I hope he will keep his head and win the tournament. Its not over till its over as a wise person once have been heard said. As you probably remember, Anand had to deal with a similar situation in Mexico when everyone was crowning him before it was over and he almost lost to A. Grischuk but managed to pull a draw in a wonderful display of power.
Holding hands for H. Nakamura
He deserves this break.
I am a Japanese chess player that lives in Japan.
There is no popularity of chess in Japan though it is regrettable.
In GO and Japanese chess,SHOGI ..Big sponsor takes side and 100 million yen player
exists.
All chess fans of Japan respect Mr. Nakamura.
Amazing, he’s about the same age as me. I could not even dream of playing chess at such a level.
Who were Nakamura’s trainers when he was young?
What magic program of training did they use to raise such a prodigy?
Let’s pretend we have a sponsor of 200,000 US$, willing to invest in a US youngster. Is it wise to try for a world champion, or a woman world champion? Which can be made easier, in how much time and with how much cash (is 200 G’s enough)? Is Nakamura still capable of becoming WCH? Thank you.
Great to see Nakumara have such a great result. His games are always exciting. ICC/Blitz chess were his trainers.
And Nakamura is totally hosed against Pallise. Maybe it’s not a good idea to go crowing about his result while the tournament is still in progress. Sort of like jinxing a No-Hitter. Once we start bragging and writing articles about how great he’s doing, he’s almost obligated to win the tournament. Who needs that kind of pressure?
I think Nakamura certainly has a chance to be World Champion, but he need a good team of seconds, he is very talanted, but has a lack of real chess School (like “Soviet” preparation method), what have Kramnik, Kasparov, Kamsky and even Topalov and Anand; he is a really great fighter, he need good round-robin tournament invitations, not US Swiss, like World Open et al., so he need 2700+ FIDE and some $$ investments.
His father in law FM Sunil Weeramantru is quiet good player and coach by self (the older brother of Hikaru – Asuka is US National Master), but now Hikaru needs second of the another level.
