Obvious win, Took me about 30 seconds. Play Rh7 followed by another rook check.
I never would have thought White could win this in an OTB situation, unless someone gave me a clue that the win is there to be had!
1. Rf7+ Ke8
2. Ra7 and Black must lose his/her queen or be mated.
1.Rf7+ Ke8 2.Ra7! Qf6 3.Rh8+ winning
1.Rf7+ Ke8 2. Ra7!! over and out
My thought is that it is a draw for white.
1. Rh7+
if Kc6/d6/e6 Rh6+ wins the Q.
if Kc8/d8 Rf8#
if Ke8
Rh8+/Rh7+ etc., bouncing back and forth as black can’t ever play K to the sixth.
I belive in:
1. Rf7+ Ke8
2. Ra7 Qf6
3. Rh8+ Q:h8
4. Ra8+ +-

this is easy. rf7+ re8 ra7! qxr rh8+ kf7 rh7+ k~ rxq 1-0, and if after rf7+ re8 ra7! black plays qe6+ re2 1-0 or qf6 rh8+ qxr ra8+ k~ rxq 1-0. have a nice day!

Draw. No forced mate. So once White runs out of checks, he would have to use his rooks to cut off Black’s king, whereupon Black would have nothing better than perpetual check also.
how about rf7+ and followed by ra7. if q takes r then r+ and + wins the queen. the other alternative is the queen to keep on checking, but ti think the checks may end.

2. Ra7!! Queen can’t capture the root because then Rh8+ and Rh7+ winning.
A possible black move

4. Ra8+ winning the Queen and the game…

Very pretty! Looks like white wins with
1. Rf7+ Kg8
2. Ra7 threatens mate and black has no reasonable check (Qg6+ 3.Rg2). Covering the mate on h8 with Qf6 loses the queen after Rh8+ followed by Ra8+.
And after
2… Qa7
3. Rh8+ with 4. Rh7+ wins the queen.
Here’s a related problem. Put Black’s Queen on c8 and King on f7. Put White’s Rooks on h1 and g2, and King on g1. The stipulation is:
White is moving and wins.
To put it another way, White can give checkmate in sixteen-and-one-half moves. How?
