1. f6! followed by Qxd7. If 1.- Bxh3 then 2. Bd3+ and mate to follow on the back rank
1.f6 Bh3, 2.Bd3 1-0
1.f6 with the idea: 1… BxQh3 2.Bd3+ and Rb8 mates
1,f6
I would gladly play 1. f6!
1-0
f6!
Wow!! Took me a long time to find this. I completely missed how weak the back rank was if black were forced to retreat his king. Sacrifice the queen by pushing the f-pawn.
1. f6!!
I played with this move at various points, but only after moving the queen, but the queen is immune to capture by black’s bishop. Continuing:
1. …..Bf6 (alternatives below)
2. Qd7 and white is up a rook for three pawns. Not a trivial win from this point, but the edge should be decisive with proper technique.
At move 1, let’s look at black’s various alternatives to the capture at f6.
1. f6 Bh3??
2. Bd3! Kg8/h8 (or delay with Bf5)
3. Rb8 and all black can do is delay the back rank mate with Bc8 and Qd8.
Or, at move 1:
1. …..g4
2. Qd3 with a similar back rank mate to come.
Or:
1. …..Be8
2. Bd3 Kg8 (Kh8 3.Qh6 Kg8 4.Qg7#)
3. Qc8! Kf8
Or [3. …Qa4 4.Bc2! Qd7 5.Qd7! Bd7 6.Rb8+-]. Continuing:
4. Bb5 Bf6
5. Qe8 Kg7
6. Bd3 and white is up a rook for three pawns again.
Or:
1. …..Qe1 (deflecting the rook)
2. Re1 Bh3
3. Bd3!
White will win with gh3, but the line that follows is cleaner in my opinion, and more forcing:
3. …..Kg8
4. Re5! de6
5. fe7 Bd7
6. Bf5! Ba4 (or Bb5/e8)
7. d6! f6(anything really better?)
8. d7! Bd7
9. Bd7 and white will get his queen.
F6
Qh5 I think will win.
1. f6! because if 1…B:h3 2. Bd3+ leads to mate.
Call me crazy, but to me 1.f6! looks like a killer move!Black cannot capture the Queen, (Bd3 and Rb8), so it seems black must give up his white bishop. If white plays i.e. Qd8 to defend, just take the bishop anyway!
1. f6
if … Bxh3, 2.Bd3+ leads to mate
if … ef, 2.Qxd7
But 1 f6 is faster:1…Bxh3 2 Bd3+ Kg8 3 Rb8+
But I think 1 f6 is faster
f6 threatening to take the Bishop and if BxQ, the Bd3+ and Rb8#
f6 if Bxh3 then
Bd3+ Kh8 or g8
Rb8 mates
