Missoula chess competition set for Halloween

The 2010-2011 Montana Chess Championship will be held Sunday, Oct. 31, at the DoubleTree Hotel, 100 Madison St. The entry fee is $15 if paid before the tournament and $20 at the door. The fee for junior and women players is $10.
Registration is 12:10-12:40 p.m. and the first round is at 1 p.m. The second round will be at 2:20 p.m., third round at 3:30 p.m. and round four at 5:20 p.m. Entrants who have chess equipment and a chess clock are encouraged to bring them. Format is four games, not rated, Swiss tournament rules.
To register in advance for the tournament, mail information to Greg Nowak, P.O. Box 8572, Missoula, MT 59801, or register in person at Bernice’s Bakery on Tuesdays, Oct. 5, 12 and 19 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. or Liquid Planet on Monday, Oct. 25, from 8 to 9:30 p.m.
