Rxd8+
Rd6 Be7
Bxc6+ Rxc6
Rcxc6 Nxc6
Rdxc6
I would play Rd6 attacking the bishop with a few pieces and not enough defending. the bishop on c6 is also pinned. he could decide to trade but it wouldnt be good either.
Hi Wolv,
Bc6 is not pinned – he can go to d7 to defend the Rc8.
In this case we can still win a figure for a short time (RxRc8 BxRc8 and then RxNd8+ and Nf7+) but it seems to me that in this variation the knight on h8 can be trapped.
1. Rd6?! Bd7 (or Bb7)
2. Rxc8 Bxc8
3. Rxd8+ Kxd8
4. Nf7+ Ke8
5. Nxh8 g6
1. Rxd8+ looks more efficient because white ends with a figure plus.
Jochen
I think white wins a whole piece atleast with Rxd8 (not just winning exchange or 2 minor pieces for a rook etc.)
1. Rxd8+ Kxd8
2. Nf7+ Ke8?
3. Nxh8 Kd7
4. Nf7
and the knight is not trapped. But Bc6 is pinned. And could be easily removed or knight can easily escape through f7.
1. Rxd8+ Kxd8
2. Nf7+ Kc7?
3. Rxc6+
1. Rxd8+ Kxd8
2. Nf7+ Kd7
3. Bxc6+ Kc7?
4. Be8+ (cutting the support from other rook)
4. .. Kb7
5. Rxc8 Kxc8
6. Nxh8
1. Rxd8+ Kxd8
2. Nf7+ Kd7
3. Bxc6+ Rxc6
4. Rxc6 Kxc6
5. Nxh8
1. Rxd8+ Bxd8
2. Bxc6+ Rxc6
3. Rxc6
Is my analysis complete?

I noticed I left few variations.
1. Rxd8+ Kxd8
2. Nf7+ Kc7?
3. Rxc6+
3. .. Kc7
4. Rxc8+ Kxc8
5. Nxh8
3. .. Kb8
4. Nxh8 Rxh8

The bishop on c6 is loose:
1. R:d8+
if 1. …, K:d8
then 2. Nf7+, Kd7 (or c7 or e7)
3. N:h8, R:h8
4. R:c6
if 1. …, B:d8
then 2. B:c6+, R:c6 (forced)
3. R:c6
if 1. …, R:d8
then 2. B:c6+, Rd7 (forced)
3. B:d7+, K:d7
In each case, White comes out of it a piece up.
