On this day in 1943, Bobby Fischer was born in Chicago. He would have been 65 years old today. He became the 11th World Champion in 1972 by defeating Boris Spassky.
Maybe I can understand the above. I was very disappointed in the Seventies, that Fischer refused to play Karpov, and everybody said, Karpov had stolen the title. But this player dominated the world chess for ten years!
O yes, Bobby saw very well he had no chance against Karpov.
But I didn’t want to hurt the american chess hearts….
RIP champ!
Maybe President Bush will lift the freeze on Fischers money at the UBSbank in Switzerland now.

Nice looking analog chess clock. Looks similar to a Garde.
