IM Marc Arnold (NY) defeated FM Alec Getz (NY) in the 2nd playoff game with the white pieces to clinch the 2012 US Junior Championship title. They drew the first game.
Congratulations to both players for their excellent performance in this event! In order to qualify for the playoff, these two players had to win their respective sections.

Marc was one of the few top players that continued to play scholastic tournaments while he was still eligible. He should commended for that. This win is a great capstone to his junior career.
