The 13th Open Internacional de Malaga, under management of Delegacion Malagueña de Ajedrez, is taking place on 20-27th February at the Excma. Diputacion Provincial de Malaga.
The event has gathered 120 players and among them six Grandmasters: Oleg Korneev (Russia), Aleksa Strikovic and Dragan Paunovic (Serbia), Carlos Matamoros Franco (Ecuador), Pontus Carlsson (Sweden) and Juan Manuel Bellon Lopez (Spain).
La Coruña resident Aleksa Strikovic and Cuban IM Isan Reynaldo Ortiz Suarez achieved perfect scores in the first four rounds and are set to play each other on the top board in the fifth round.
