4 Round Swiss System Tournament (Game/30)

• Site: Monterey High School, 4/26/08 (Lubbock, Texas)

• Description: This USCF rated individual and team scholastic tournament includes four sections: primary (k‐2), elementary (3‐5), middle (6‐8), and high school (9‐12). 30 minutes maximum per player per game. Onsite registration and check‐in is 9am‐10:30am (must checkin by 10:30am). Round 1 (11am), round 2 (1pm), round 3 (2:30pm), and round 4 (4pm).

• Cost: USCF members $10. All others: $27 if received by 4/18; After 4/18 or onsite add $12. The entry fee includes a 1‐year membership to the US Chess Federation (which includes 6 issues of Chess Life For Kids), and a lecture/Q&A with Susan Polgar (10:30am). • Prizes: Trophies awarded for top 10 finishers in each section and to top 3 school teams in each section. Additional valuable chess prizes to the top 3 finishers and top girl in each section! Team prizes are based on the top 3 individual scores from the same school within the same section.
