WOM Proposals (Sent by WOM Secretary Anastasia Sorokina to the FIDE Office in April 2015)

1. We kindly ask to make an exception, and allow WOM to nominate women for Lecturer title by participating as a Lecturer Assistant in only one official FIDE Arbiters’ seminar.

WOM is trying to organize more Arbiters’ Seminars to get more women arbiters involved in official FIDE women’s events. For this, we need to have more FIDE Licensed Women Lecturers. For now, we only have 5 women lecturers out of 52!!!
http://arbiters.fide.com/seminars/list-of-fide-lecturers.html

By the current rules, to become a FIDE Lecturer, it is necessary to be a Lecturer’s Assistant during 3 official Arbiters’ Seminars. If we will have more women Lecturers, we could organize more Seminars for ladies thru WOM.

2. We kindly ask FIDE to include in the regulations of the official FIDE women’s events (such as FIDE Women’s GP, Women’s World Championship Match, Women’s World Cup/Championship, Women’s World Blitz & Rapid Championships, Women’s Team Championship, Women’s Olympiad) that the Chief Arbiter should be a woman.
