Round 3: Monday, February 19th
Veselin Topalov vs. Peter Leko
Peter Svidler vs. Vassily Ivanchuk
Magnus Carlsen vs. Vishy Anand
Alexander Morozevich vs. Levon Aronian
Can Topalov and Morozevich score their first win? Magnus won his first game, almost won his second game. Will he win this round against Anand? What are your predictions?
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
The safest thing is just to predict all draws. You’ll be right 3 out of 4 times, most likely.
1/2 Veselin Topalov vs. Peter Leko
1/2 Peter Svidler vs. Vassily Ivanchuk
0-1 Magnus Carlsen vs. Vishy Anand
0-1 Alexander Morozevich vs. Levon Aronian

You must suck at chess. Afraid to take a chance once in a while? Do you ever leave the house? Drink Milk?
I hope Morozevich wins. He is my favorite players of the ones assembled there. His games are almost always exiting.
1-0 Topalin-Leko
1/2 Svidler-Ivanchuk
1/2 Carlsen-Anand
0-1 Morozevich-Aronian

You must suck at logic if you think chess ability is tied to handicapping. The purpose of picking is to pick correctly, silly.
Probably not much good at chess either. Good players don’t need to overcompensate by picking childish fights over nothing. When you crack the 1400 barrier, get back to me.
Since predictions are held in such low regard here, and since half the people just predict their wishes anyway, why not forget predictions, and make a wish list? You’re not allowed to pick a draw, and you have to choose what you want to see no matter how unlikely it may be. Here’s mine:
0-1 Topalov vs. Leko
0-1 Svidler vs. Ivanchuk
0-1 Carlsen vs. Anand
0-1 Morozevich vs. Aronian
There’s my wishlist:
Topalov-Leko 0-1
Svidler-Ivanchuk 1/2-1/2
Carlsen-Anand 1/2-1/2
Morozevich-Aronian 1-0
I like Anand much better than Carlsen, but Carlsen is still a child, it’s impossible to wish him to lose.
Here is my wish list compared to my previous results picks:
Leko beats Topalov
Ivanchuk beats Svidler
Carlsen beats Anand
Morozevich beats Aronian
But I would put my money on my first picks.
I wish Ivanchuk wins today and the tournament. After that a good party in Radjabov´s home to celebrate.
Yes, a great party at Radjabovs, returning the laptop 🙂
It would be great to see Ivanchuck playing the KID 🙂
Wish list:
0-1 Veselin Topalov vs. Peter Leko
0-1 Peter Svidler vs. Vassily Ivanchuk
1-0 Magnus Carlsen vs. Vishy Anand 1-0Alexander Morozevich vs. Levon Aronian
Predictions:
1/2 Veselin Topalov vs. Peter Leko
1/2 Peter Svidler vs. Vassily Ivanchuk
1/2 Magnus Carlsen vs. Vishy Anand
1-0 Alexander Morozevich vs. Levon Aronian
I know this is off-topic but…Susan can you cover some of the Aeroflot games…Specifically Hou Fi..She is incredibly strong except in the ending. If she improves in this area. Watch out world. Her game against T. Petrosian was winning but alas she did not play the best moves.
My wish is that Morozevich beats Aronian with the Sokolsky (1.b4) 😛
so ther is no post game conferences, analysis from the GMs. The Corus championships was an eye-opener for all organizers: we want more of thise videos!
Rgds M.
*ugh*. I wish GM Susan would add a spell checker to the posts!

i think ivanchuk equalized, but i am not sure.
anand did not understand and i think he is losing a pawn
topalov is slightly better but i think with leko defending it is a draw
moro-aro is one of these games that mortals do not understand.
VISHY!!!!!
carlsen peaked and now on downslide maximized potential in 8 or so years. congrats to this young man on his accomplishments but no future WC
