Chess: GM Laylo plays simultaneous at SM Lipa (Sports)

MANILA,Jan. 13 (PNA) — Grandmaster Darwin Laylo, a native of Lipa City, Batangas performed a 25-board simultaneous chess exhibition at the The Events Center of SM Lipa, Batangas last Sunday and won all of them except three matches.

SM Shoemart Inc. bankrolled the event through the initiative of Chief Operations Officer Annie Silva-Garcia who made the event possible together with organizer Mr. Alex Dinoy.

Laylo’s first leg of a planned series of chess simuls on SM malls on various parts of the country affirms his and SM’s commitment in helping several sports development programs on the countryside.

The second leg will be held on Jan. 17, 2009 at SM City Batangas.
