  Hi,

  This is a nice solution. If somebody posts all combination, I would be happy.

  Many of the black”s move are not forced. How should white try after

  1. … Ka8 (or) after 2. … Ka8.

  The blacks queen is defending a7 and is there a possiblity for perpetual check by Black? (Given a chance).

  I have only questions and Im hoping somebody would post answers.

  I would be happy to try to give all combinations. As I said before, most often these puzzels can be solved by determing the “forced” moves.

  1. Rxb7++ Kxb7 [is not a true force but the only other legal move 1…Ka8 loses quickly as
  2.Qxa6+ Qa7(forced)
  3.Qxa7#]

  Returning to the moves after 1…Kxb7
  2.Rb7+ leads to only two lines both forced losses as the only legal moves are Ka8 or Kb8

  if 2…Ka8
  3.Qxa6+ with again only 2 legal moves either 3…Kb8 then 4.Qb8#
  or again 3…Qa7 4.Qxa7#

  if 2…Kb8
  3. Rxe7+ (discovered) with again only 2 legal moves either Kc8 or Ka8. [Actually 3. Rd7+ works the same way but who wouldn’t be happier taking the horsie?]
  if 3…Kc8 then
  4.Qc7#

  if 3…Ka8 then once again
  4.Qxa6+ with again only 2 legal moves either Kb8 then 5.Qb8#
  or again 4…Qa7 5.Qxa7#
