Anand rules!
Just think how much more he’d rule if he’d won!
Anand won the rapid though. And Carlsen second; stong performance!
I hope Topalov and Danailov get to the bottom of this Kramnik thing! The longer they delay the more Kramnik goes on a rampage winning tournaments and matches that Topalov should be winning as the rightful World Chess Champion. I bet there will be something regarding the KGB and retinal implants or something…
The World Champion Kramnik won the tournament combined. Anand was second place! Rapid is just 1/2 of this tournament. I would love to see a World Championship Match between Kramnik and Anand! Both gentleman and great chess players!
Yes Kramnik Anand is what everyone wants and it is not likely to happen. Topalov who cheated his way to a San Luis win will probably get the next shot at a match.
Danailov is going to write a book called.
THE BENEFITS OF CHEATING.
Kramnik is the only one who can defeat Anand in a match right now
Susan,
Can you please comment on Kramnik’s performance ?
Is this guy superhuman ?
He won his world champion title against Kasparov without losing a single game. Unbelievable. Great Kasparov was not able to win a single game.
Then he smashed Topalov. He gave him away game which he was supposed to play with white. And eventually won.
And now he wins a tournament of such a high caliber with 2 points margin.
You need to give us some explanations. What makes him play this good ? How is this possible ? Is he an alien or what ?
Not an alien, just one of the most
intelligent players in history.
This is scientifically proven in
an academic study made in a university somewhere in eastern europe (I read about this study a few months ago on http://www.chessbase.com).
It was not a russian study, i believe it was hungarian or czech
if i’m not wrong.
Steven
This is very nice to see those guys accepted Kramnik is not a simple chess player.
Some tries to accuse him because of his great performance this is funny!
The answer is quiete simple, if you go back and observe the first meetings of Kasparov and Kramnik (in Kramnik’s young days) you will easily see this man was able to beat Kasparov in many events.
And according to chessgames.com overall result between Kramnik and Kasparov is 22-23 in favor of Kasparov and 79 draws. So only one difference Kasparov have, and this is not important to speak about.
That shows Kramnik did not become a “chess monster” in recent years, he was already one of the best of all times since his first appearance in chess world!
If someone calls Kasparov to be the “greatest of all times”, then they have to accept that Kramnik has an equal strong to Kasparov. (For me Kramnik was always better than Kasparov) therefore Kramnik is also the greatest of all times!
So if Kramnik is one of the greatest of all times, who cares about Topalov, he is a simple hard working home-made player! Topalov has not a natural brain to play chess, he is only memorizing nothing else. So please stop comparing Topalov and Kramnik this is meaningless.
Congratulations Kramnik you are the king of kingspiel!
Kramnik is good, VERY good, but I don’t think he compares to Kasparov, who I think is the greatest.
Kramnik:
Kramnik beat Kasparov for the world championship and successfully defended it twice, he is good at rapid and blind, has a capablanca-like quality of not losing games and has a decent run of tournaments.
Kasparov:
Kasparov beat Karpov for the world championship and defended it successully many times until losing the Kramnik in ’00
has won a very large number of tournaments and had the #1 ranking for close to two decades
I think Kasparov stands better in that comparison, that said, there is still plenty of time for Kramnik to catch up with/overtake Kasparov so we shall have to wait til the end of his career to compare him objectively.
I believe that Kramnik may actually have a stronger positional understanding than Kasparov but much less will to fight – I cannot imagine Kramnik having a nickname like ‘the Beast’.
