Ivanchuk scored the lone win of the day over Gelfand to move into a tie for 2nd with Anand, 1/2 point behind Kramnik. It is a mistake for anyone to judge Ivanchuk based on his rating. He is capable of winning any tournament and beating anyone.

Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Kramnik is running away with this tournament.
Kramnik is just 1/2 point ahead & he is not running away with it! not just yet….
Kramnik has played some wonderful chess, but a 1/2 point isn’t much with 2 rounds still to play.
On chessbase.com there’s video of Ivanchuk, today, wearing a surgical mask during his game. But it looked like he merely tied a big loose napkin over his mouth that wouldn’t block anything. Odd fellow.
What do you make of Moro’s comment that he does not miss Topalov’s presence here, or in any other tournament. Is there bad blood between them, or is Topalov generally despised by other players?
If a half point is “running away”, I wonder what a squeaker would look like. Blind partisans are so boring, they just say any old thing without caring.
