After defeating Leko in Hungary in an 8 game rapid match, World Champion Vladimir Kramnik will take on the World Cup Winner and Olympic Champion GM Levon Aronian for a six game match in Yerevan, Armenia. The match will take place from May 4 – 6, 2007. The time control will be 25 minutes with 10 seconds increment.
Here is the official website.
Who will win this match?
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Kramnik will win it..
Melody
Even though Kramnik should win I think Aronian who is still progressing could score an upset here, but a long shot due to Kramnik Superman Solid Chess style.
could someone please tell me when the games start EST time?
What I understand from the website;
9 am and 10:45 am (NY time)..
Games at 10:00 and 11:45 Eastern daylight time!
The calculation is from the statement on the official website:
“games beginning at 18:00 (GMT+4) and at 19:45 on May 4, 5 and 6.”
18:00 at GMT+4 means 14:00 at GMT. GMT is 4 hours ahead of eastern daylight time, so that puts the early games at 10:00 EDT. Late games are scheduled at 19:45 (GMT+4), which is 1:45 later than the early games.
It’s time Kramnik to loose one match after a loong time.
Go Levon!
Wake up! It’s now, 9am.
thanks for the help
Probably Kramnik, but no telling. Aronian has been just about to break into the very top tier for some time now.
