CONGRATULATION FROM THESSALONIKI – FILO3ENIA
Nakamura was not very clever …. Kotronias is the author of a book titled “Beating the Caro-Kann”.
In this book he advocates the advance variation though; but this was in the early 90s. However, Kotronias has to be considered an expert as white against the Caro-Kann; Nakamura was stupid…
It’s not about the Caro-Kann…Nakamura simply blundered away his queen.
Nakamura should have smelled a rat when the move Queen takes pawn on e3 could not be played due to Re1 trapping the Queen. He had a breakdown in his thinking process and began attacking like a beginner with just his Queen, while White is fully mobilized. Perhaps he was infected by what he said on his website of his first opponent. NOT!!!! Cmon Nakamura you are better than this…GO KICK BUTT. But sometimes you gotta be like Petrosian and smell a rat. When you smell a rat, don’t ignore your sense of smell.
Not because you’re an author of a chess book makes you invulnerable.
Take the case of Fischer beating Najdorf in Sicilian Najdorf.
One loss game will not make you stupid especially if you’re a Nakamura.
Watch out for Smallville in the succeeding rounds.
