The Governor of Ugra Natalya Komarova and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Government Alexander Zhukov met with chess players and shared their impressions on the 39th World Chess Olympiad.

The head of the Okrug and the Deputy Prime Minister visited the venue of the Olympiad before the start of the final round, where the chess players from 153 countries have been competing for the champions’ titles for two weeks.

Natalya Komarova showed Alexander Zhukov the playing halls and just before the start of the round they have had a meeting with the Russian national team and wished them success in the decisive round.

Sharing his impressions on the Olympiad, the Deputy Prime-Minister and the Russian Olympic Committee President Alexander Zhukov said: “According to the participants this is the best Olympiad that has ever been held before. The leadership of the Okrug and the Organizing Committee have done their maximum to provide chess players with all comfortable conditions as for the playing halls, accommodation and free time are concerned. We were concerned about the hotels construction and finally everything turned out to be perfect.
