New International Chess Academy of the Republic of Kalmykia
Head of the Republic of Kalmykia, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov issued a Decree to create a State Educational Institution “Chess Academy of the Republic of Kalmykia” in Elista, Republic of Kalmykia, Russia.Elista FIDE Office General Director Mr. Vyacheslav Namruev is appointed the General Director of “Chess Academy of the Republic of Kalmykia”.
Chess Academy in Elista is already functioning now. We invite national federations and chess players to cooperate with the Chess Academy in Elista. Send your proposals, questions, applications to have lessons in the Chess Academy to Namruev Vyacheslav.
The decision to construct a new building with chess classes and 60 rooms to accommodate young chess players has been already made by the FIDE President. The construction of the new “Chess Academy” is planned to be started this year. The source of the financing has been already determined.
The aim of the “Chess Academy” in Elista is to train chess players on a professional level, in order to achieve stable results, to perform norms of “FIDE Master”, “International Master”, “International Grandmaster”.
The Chess Academy will function under the patronage of the FIDE President who nominated the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Republic of Kalmykia, the Vice President of the Russian Chess Federation, the President of the Kalmyk Chess Federation Mr. Bovaev to control the carrying out of the Decree.
