Sad to see 2 over the hill dudes trying to hang on to fame.
That is a really sad and spiteful post.
Neither are claiming this means anything; they are trying to publicise chess.
To “publicise” chess, how much did Kasparov and Short get paid? If they get zero or donate everything from this event to the children then they have my respect. If they made a boat load of money then they’re just using the children to make money.
The event was to raise money for the Kasparov Foundation, to promote chess for children.
And even if they did get paid, for doing some work, why should you care? Do you go to work for free? It’s just more classic trolling.
Kasparow deserves every respect. He was the animal of chess in all his active years and destroyed almost all todays heroes, with apparent ease.
Then again, who wants to earn your respect?
