Can someone explain why this tournament is resulting in so many wins for Black?
Round 11: White wins 2. Black wins 6. 3 draws
Round 12: White 2, Black 8, 1 draw
Round 13: White 1, Black 7, 3 draws
Round 14: White 3, Black 7, 1 draw
I’ve never seen anything like it.
Mark
maybe the black’s player himself, very good in conjunction ^_^
wow! look at the Day-3 draw … Anand(White) vs. Aronian (black). Anand has lost their last 5 (of 6) encounters playing black except a blindfold game which was split. Of these 5 losses, the last 3 have been the Queen’s gambit declined-semi slav. The last game in the Tal memorial was a super disaster for Anand. So, I wonder what’s in store.
enjoy!
cheers,
dv
At shorter time controls the advantage of playing as white [in terms of overall win %] is less than at classical time controls (statistics work by Jeff Sonas).
Though the difference isn’t that huge.
