One of Sergei Karjakin’s fans feels that he is not getting enough recognition with the media worldwide. Therefore, he decided to create a blog. Here is the blog address: http://karjakin.blogspot.com/
Sergey Karjakin (born 12 January, 1990 in Simferopol) of Ukraine became the youngest chess grandmaster in history at the age of 12 years and 7 months.
On the FIDE ranking list of January 2008, he has a rating of 2732, making him number 14 in the world, number 2 in the category of boys up to 20 years old and number 2 in the Ukraine.
He was the official second of fellow Ukrainian Ruslan Ponomariov, during the 2002 FIDE World championship. In 2004, Karjakin finished second to Boris Gelfand at the Pamplona, Navarra tournament, held from December 20 to December 29.
The rest can be seen on his blog.
I liked it a lot!
I hope he keeps this up.
Who is he?
One of the guys from “Man from Uncle” if I remember it right.
He is better than Carlsen.
He was better than Carlsen.
Quite.
But the blog creator is right. Karjakin, too, is very promising and is indeed not getting the recognition he deserves.
He should, for example, quite definitely have been invited to the last Corus tournament ahead of Adams and Judit Polgar.
Karjakin has the potential to win such a tournament. These two do not, and very probably never will have. They are well past their best and can be safely left off the invite list.
Same applies now to Gelfand, too, of course.
Karjakin is a very nice guy. A few years ago, my 9-year old son emailed several of these young stars, Karjakin and Aronian did give him a reply! Aronian even played a few games and talked with my son on ICC! How sweet!
Great idea… wonderful !!!
That’s another chess site to add to the Favorites, side by side with Magnus’ blog.
Let’s see how both of them will do in Amber, with Karjakin facing Anand today and Carlsen meeting Topalov… another exciting journey!!!
