We are the mighty USA and all we can get is guy to the 2nd round?
1 guy to 2nd round
the mighty USA is represented by a bunch of player from the former Soviet Union and eastern block.
So, having that many players in the first round, you should be happy. If they had played in the european qualifying, most of them wouldn’t have qualified
Hmmmmm, let’s see….what flag does GM Kamsky have by his side at tournaments?
The U.S. flag. He’s an American and it doesn’t matter if he was born in another country.
We seem to get the weak ex-soviet players – chess retards. Those worth their salt still get supported by their respective countries.
Even Kamsky is a joke. He’ll get eliminated in the next round. No one will advance from the US past round 2.
This is all the fault of the USCF. Those incompetent buffons continually destroy chess in the US. The entire ‘Executive Board’ (what a joke to call them that) should resign and the Executive Director (Mr. I’m out sick more often than I’m at work) should be fired and have to pay restitution to the USCF.
Despite the fact that it seems your first language is english, you do not seem to understand the word “most”. This doesn’t mean “all”, as far as I was taught :-)(since I am not native speaker..).
So all the sarcasm about Kamsky having actually manage to qualify doesn’t quite apply…
And yes, Kamsky is a good player (that learned to play proper chess in USSR). But USA is a country with grater population than Russia, or Armenia, or Azerbaijan for example, (and presumably higher living standard) and having one (imported) decent chess player should not be considered an achievment…
GATA KAMSKY rules and will go all the way!
Hmmmm, let’s see.. we Americans also have the wonderful person of Susan Polgar to advance our sport. It never ceases to amaze me how people will say negative things about American players…who became citizens and are “American” in every sense of the word…just because they hate but also are jealous and envious of the USA!
There is a reason great players such as Kamsky and Polgar came to the USA and not remain forever in an eastern european country. you can say it’s the wealth America has…but all you have to do is read the “breaking through” book written by GM Susan Polgar and she explains why America is now her home…..
Yes..the USA is mighty as a previous Anon said. yes..we are and we are far mightier than Russia or any other nation in the history of the world.
Live with it and learn to be a stoic and not be jealouos.
Hate us all you wish…we’ll still be the most powerful nation in the history of the Earth and there isn’t a thing you can do or say about it.
And I love it…go back to whatever hole you crawled out of and stop your obvious jealousy of the U.S. It will only hurt you…your words do not hurt the U.S. in any way…but your hatred and jealosy will eat your soul to the core.
Idiots all of you – America is a third world chess country.
No one here can play chess good. Gata Kamsky does not know his openings. He cannot survive at his level without that. If he spent less time on ICC and more time studying then he would have better results. Just like Nakamura – if he stayed away from Burger King and spent more time studying he would be at the World Cup and he would get large invitations to Super-GM tournaments. He is a joke as well. Just because he accomplishes something big in terms of chess in the US only means he is tallest midget.
Many chess problems are because of organizer Bill Goichbirg. He cares only for money and not for chess. He pretends interest in chess but uses national federation to personal gain. US federation also in bad shape. Move to (as you Americans say) middle of nowhere and have this Bill Hall person who finds difficulty tying his shoes. I learnt from some people before he was substitute teacher, now director of national federation. ONLY IN AMERICA – LAND OF THE FREELY STUPID.
Kramnik is good.
Well, jealous “anonymous”, America is one of the most educated nation on Earth.
Its universities, libraries, sciences, techniques, are the best of the world.
Go back to your third world country.
to Anon. 10:34 pm Nov. 25:
You think Kamsky “doesn’t know his openings?????” Have you played him lately? I wonder how you would do in a game against him?
If you are going to say something and try to sound “intellectual,” then at least use some logic to back up your argument. If Kamsky “didn’t know his openings” he couldn’t compete as a super-GM. He has. He does. He will continue to do so. He isn’t as good as Kramnik, Anand, or Judit Polgar (overall) but anybody with a consistent rating above 2700 must know something about the opening phase of a chess game or they could never maintain such a high rating and “Super-GM” status.
Use logic and not emotion in your arguments and you would fair a lot better even if someone disagrees with you.
It’s OK to “agree to disagree” but back what you say up with some evidence.
Kamsky isn’t as good as Anand and Kramnik, but he is better than Judith Polgar.
The simple solution to everything wrong with Chess in the U.S. is to ask Sam Sloan to be our leader.
