As I predicted yesterday, Justine Henin-Hardenne defeated Svetlana Kuznetsova in straight sets by the score of 6-4, 6-4. This should bring Justine back closer to the number one ranking which she held before she was injured.
Tomorrow will be the Federer – Nadal. Will I be 2/2 with my prediction? 🙂
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Well Susan, congratulations, BUT
You’ve been predicting fairly obvious favorites. I’ll admit that so far they worked out (I took Kusnetsova in the final), but I’m not prepared to award you the title of Tennis clarvoyant.
You can beat me again tomorrow, since I’m taking Federer in the final (in 5 sets).
In my last trip to LA I was pissed that I didn’t know about the Chess pavilion just south of Santa Monica along the beach. I showed up there, but without a set, so couldn’t play a game. I HOPE you had the opportunity to visit this.
What is it with Chess and tennis? Ever since the old Spassky days, professional Chess players have GONE OUT OF THEIR WAY to espouse tennis as a sideline. Is this because physical training proves too strenuous??
Good luck tomorrow.
Dan G.
santa MONICA?
MONICA???!?!?!?!?
please don’t say Monica in a tennis convo. Monica is the one who should #1 in Tennis
Susan , have you ever met your fellow Magyar?
Yeah, it’s not exactly clairvoyance to pick the big favorites. 😉
I’m impressed by Justine, and think that she’s a really tough competitor (print stories suggest she’s had a difficult life). Her strange withdrawal in last year’s US Open puzzled me, and seemed at odds with her toughness. Glad she’s recovered.
Susan you only write three chess columns and a daily blog, with your great tennis prognostications why not do a Tennis column for the New York Times ; ) LOL

What ever happened to Jennifer Capriati?
