According to ESPN, the Mets have landed superstar pitcher Johan Santana for center fielder Carlos Gomez and pitchers Phil Humber, Kevin Mulvey and Deolis Guerra. Santana won the Cy Young in 2004 and 2006. He has a record of 93 wins and 44 losses with an ERA of 3.22!

New York and Santana have until 5 p.m. ET Friday to reach an agreement for a contract extension. The rumor is he will seek a six-year, $150 million contract! But if he can pitch for the Mets the way he pitched in Minnesota, it may be worth it with the sky rocketing baseball salaries today.

For the baseball fans out there, will this make the Mets the favorite team in the NL? Will it be a Red Sox – Mets World Series in October? 🙂
