There is something amusing about him being referred to as “WC”.
Ha Ha! Yeah maybe they should have given us a picture of him on his “Throne”.
LOL, that’s funny.
Personally, I think there’s something amusing about calling the Cardinals world champions. Yeah, I know they won the World Series, but I have such a high opinion of myself, that I think my personal approval is more more important than any of that. Until they get my approval, they’re nothing.
See? My head is as big as yours.
the abbreviation “WC” for the title of the reigning world chess champion GM Vladimir Kramnik, might be a verbal blooper, perhaps an indignity or even more likely a deliberate insult …
(by the way – GM Veselin Topalov – in the same blog – is correctly named as “former world champion”.)
… otherwise “WC” might also be an abbreviation for “World Champion”… who knows; imho, only the author of the capture (or does the capture have an authoress?).
it isn’t visible in the fog, is it?
After reading the interview with Kramnik it seems that he has such a strong desire to finish in first place in the upcoming World Championship event in Mexico. It will be interesting to see if he ends up half a point behind with one round left to see if he will risk it all and press as hard as he can to win the event or be happy with a solid second place.
matt, he will have nothing to lose as he is gaurenteed a match with the winner. I think he will go for it. Playing topa again if he wins is a lock to remain WC for a few more years.
