The International Chess Festival “Waves of the Danube” is scheduled to take place from 30th April to 3rd May, 2015, in Continental Hotel, Drobeta Turnu Severin, in Romania.
The event is organized by Chess Club Oltenia and is separated into five different FIDE tournaments with guaranteed prize fund in total of 12,000 RON (approximately 2,700 €):
– PROLOGOS Cup – 9-round Swiss Rapid Chess Open for players rated below 2450
– 2200 Cup – 5-round Swiss Classic Open for players rated below 2200
– 2000 Cup – 5-round Swiss Classic Open for players rated below 2000
– 1800 Cup – 5-round Swiss Classic Open for players rated below 1800
– 1600 Cup – 7-round Swiss Classic Open for players rated below 1600
