Topalov’s tournament performance would even rise to 2918 if you took away his first round win (as his opponent was so low at 2289 it messes his performance rating up a bit!)
But do bear in mind Anand had bad tournament coming outright last before beating Kramnik in a match- so don’t judge too much from Kamsky’s performance.
It will be a tough match for Topalov- but he should be capable of winning it if he’s at his brilliant best.
…And Kamsky’s performance would be way below 2600 had Leko won yesterday his won position. The whole game Kamsky’s position was worse and even in the end when Leko took the draw by repetition he had an easy win with Rb4.
Anyway, if this match is really going to happen, Kamsky will need a miracle to win it.
Wow, Topa made the list but not Gata. Interesting…
Topalov is at the moment performing at a 2889 level, Kamsky is at the moment performing at 2615 level.
If this would be the level of play in their match, it would end 6:0 (Fischer like) or 6.5-0.5…
How on earth did Kamsky win the World Cup to qualify?!
Looks like this will be the most ridiculous match in last 20 years in chess.
