1 Ka2 Rb4
2 Ka3 Rxc4
3 Re7 a5
4 Re6+ K moves
5 Rxb6 =
Or 2 … Kg5
3 Re4 Kf5
4 Rh5 =
a5 draws
Henryk
Well, Henryk Immitator, for starters, your move loses as follow:
1.a5 Ra3+
2.Ra2 Rxa5
3.RxR? bxR
4.ka2 Kg5
5.ka3 Kf5
6.Ka4 Ke5
7.Kxa Kd4 and black wins
I agree with Chris drawing line.
I’m just going to add this combination which also draws in case black decides to play 2…a5 insted of 2….Rxc4
1.Ka2 Rb4
2.ka3 a5 (2…Rxc4 3.Re7 a5 4.Re6+ Kmoves Rxb6 draws as chris demostrated)
3.Re6+ Kg5
4.Re4 and black can’t brake through.
It’s just an idea:
1. Rc2 Ra3+ 2. Kb2 Rxa4 3. Rc1 and the black rook is in a castle.
