The Spanish Individual Women Chess Championship took place from August 15th to August 21st, 2015, in Linares, Spain.
The event was a 9-round Swiss tournament, valid for FIDE and FEDA Elo. The tempo of play was 90’ + 30”.
IM Sabrina Vega Gutierrez scored 7/9 points to lift the trophy, while the 18-years old WIM Irene Nicolas Zapata took the silver with 6.5 points.
The third place was shared by IM Ana Matnadze, WIM Yudania Hernandez Estevez and WIM Niala Collazo Hidalgo-Gato, after the whole group finished the event with 6 points. However, Matnadze won the bronze medal on superior tie-break score.
