41st National Women Challengers (National B) Chess Champoinship 2014 took place on 7-15th September 2014 at the Peddem Sports Complex Peddem, in Mapusa, a town in North Goa, India.
The event was an 11-round Swiss with a time control 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game plus 30 seconds increment starting from move 1.
IM Nisha Mohota (2248) and IM Vijaylakshmi Subbaraman (2314) shared first place on 9,5/11 points, but Mohota prevailed on a better tie-break score.
The surprise of the tournament was 19-year-old Reddy Hinduja, rated only 1867, who finished clear third on 8,5 points, adding new 67 Elo points to her rating.
