The 8th edition of Leiden Chess Tournament was held on 11-20th July, 2014, in Leiden, a city in the Dutch province of South Holland.

The event was organized by the Stichting Denksportpromotie Nederland, a foundation for mind sports, in a 9-round Swiss format.

The last-year’s tradition goes on in Leiden. After GM S. P. Sethuraman won the event in 2013, now another Indian lifts the trophy. IM Arghyadip Das emerged a clear winner with 7/9 points and grabbed the first prize of 1750 €.

The second place was shared in a six-way tie by GM Bogner Sebastian (SUI), GM Nikolic Predrag (BIH), GM Sengupta Deep (IND), GM Ikonnikov Vyacheslav (RUS), GM Horvath Csaba and IM Cernousek Lukas (CZE) on 6,5 points each.
