This question was posed by Mr. Phil Innes, publisher of Vermont Views Magazine:
How many pawns of the same color are there from recorded games or the player’s own experience that are on the same file?
The maximum is 6, and I think I have had tripled pawns only a few times in my life. So how many quadrupled pawns or more are recorded and what happened?

for these kind of records i recommend the old web page of tim krabbé
I don’t have an answer to the question about multiple Pawns on a file. But it brings to mind an old line in the Nimzoindian, that if I remember correctly was analysis by Euwe: 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 3. Nc3 Bb4 4. Nf3 b6 5. Bg5 Bb7 6. e3 h6 7. Bh4 g5 8. Bg3 Ne4 9. Qc2 Bc3:+ 10. bc3: d6 11. Bd3 f5 12. d5 Nd7 13. Nd4 Ndc5 14. de6: Qf6 15. f3 f4 16. Be4: Be4: 17. fe4: fg3: 18. hg3: White has eight isolated Pawns!
