I do not know why yet but there are dozens of these painted horses right at the square next to the hotels. I see similar things like this in the US but cows not horses 🙂 They are very nice looking though. Maybe they are trying to remind me how the horsies move! 🙂

to your explanation: the horse sculptures in the Prager Straße have been put there on the occassion of the 800th anniversary of Dresden.
The figures symbolize “Trojan Horses” as reminders of the bivalent history of the city of Dresden on the one hand and the motto of an artistic event going along with the festivities, the “Bardinale”, on the other hand.
