2007 Corsica Masters

This super rapid event is taking place in Bastia from October 28 to 30.

The first stage was a 10 round Swiss tournament with the participation of 95 players.

Nakamura won clear first with 8 out of 10. Van Wely and Mchedlishvili tied for second with 7½.

14 players including Fridman, Landa, V. Milov, L. Milov, Bareev, Jussupov, Mikhalevski and Cvitan finished with 7.

The second stage is a knock out.

Former FIDE World Champion Kasimdzhanov and the former World Champion Karpov were automatically seeded.
