Hero’s welcome for chess wizard So

World Chess Cup sensation GM Wesley So and his two other companions will get a hero’s welcome when they arrive at 1:45 p.m. Saturday (Saturday) at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport via Phlippine Airlines.
National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) president/chairman Prospero “Butch” Pichay and secretary-general Tagaytay City Mayor Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino will welcome So and GMs Rogelio Antonio, Jr. and Darwin Laylo.
The three players will then be brought to the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) Bldg, in Diliman, Quezon City in time for the opening of the National Interclub Chess Championships and the yearend NCFP General Assembly.
“Wesley, Joey and Darwin made the country proud with their participation in the World Chess Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia,” said Pichay, who personally supported the the three players’ campaign together with the Philippine Sports Commision (PSC).
The three players will also be the guests during the NCFP General Assembly scheduled later in the day. (Tempo Sports)

I think Wesley did well partly because GMs Antonio and Laylo helped him prepare for opponents from Round 2 on. Maybe GM Antonio should stay on as Wesley’s coach and second next year.
I agree that GM Antonio should be the paid coach of Wesley.
GM Torre never have shown interest in helping out the young talents for as far as he was a GM.
Wesley needs a good coach now in order to climb the next step. Also he needs to re-evaluate his Rapid chess skills.
