Senior Master Josh Colas (NY) conquered the 2012 SP World Open for Boys and Girls.
He won the High School section by a 6-0 score! He finished 2nd in the SP World Open Puzzle Solving Championship with the score 19/20. He then won the SP World Open Blitz Championship by a 5-0 score!
He also won a $92,000 scholarship to Webster University! Congratulations to Joshua! I am so proud of him. He worked hard and improved so much from the days when he competed at the Polgar Chess Center in Forest Hills, NY. Hard work does pay off. In spite of his success, Joshua is very well mannered and humble young man. Big credit to his parents for raising him the right way.

We were fortunate to get an autograph from Joshua at the tournament site! He is such a humble young man. We wish him the best of luck. Kudos to his parents for raising a brilliant chess player who’s truly an inspiration to many young players including my son. Can’t wait for the day when he becomes a GM!
Sevan’s the best organizer in US, hands down!!
