The Inaugural Hawaii Chess Festival will take place from 14-22 March in Honolulu, Hawaii. Centered at the Hilton Waikiki Beach hotel on the island of Oahu, the Festival will consist of a series of events including:

Hawaii International Open (19-22 March) : $25,000 estimated prize fund ($12,500 guaranteed). Four sections total, top three sections FIDE rated.

Hawaii International Blitz Open (21 March): $2,000 estimated prize fund ($1,000 guaranteed). FIDE blitz rated.

Hawaii Grandmaster Challenge (Dates TBD): One lucky player will get the chance to play GMs Sam Shankland, Timur Gareev and even Women’s World Champion Hou Yifan in a round robin tournament! More details atwww.ChessVacation.com.

Other activities include a chess camp with GMs Ronen Har-Zvi and Timur Gareev, a group whale watch, Pearl Harbor & Honolulu city tour, and a “Magic Island Chess Day.” This chess play, etc.
