Lubbock (Texas), Sep 22 (IANS) India’s Pentala Harikrishna, the former World Junior champion, drew both his second and third round games in the SPICE Cup International Invitational chess Tournament and is now tied for fourth place one point behind the leader.
In the third round Sunday, Harikrishna drew with Julio Becerra of the US rated 2598 and in the third round he drew with Victor Mikhailevski of Israel, rated 2592.
Harikrishna, the second highest rated player in the field at 2668, now had 1.5 points from three rounds, and trails leader Leonid Kritz by a full point. Kritz has two wins and one draw.
The tournament, which is a category 15 event, is being promoted by Susan Polgar Institute for Chess Excellence (SPICE) and has assembled the strongest field of chess Grandmasters in US round-robin history.
The ten players in the fray are all Grandmasters and play a round robin from Sep 19-28 at the Texas Tech Student Union Building. There are other chess events being held simultaneously but this is the main attraction.

Have you noticed the pieces…
If you klick on the Harikrishna-photo you can notice that at least three black pieces have a rift (King, Queens-Rook, Pawn in front of Q-Rook)
I wonder how this can happen to what appear to be very expensive & exclusive HOS pieces…
I think I will stick to my Made-in-China plastic pieces…
Those are Ebony pieces. Ebony pieces tend to crack. They’re unique and that’s why they’re very expensive. Some can go as high as $10,000. The ebonize pieces are much cheaper.
…and if you scroll down to the 2nd round and click on the photo “GM Pentala of India” you can notice also at least three pieces with cracks: Black king, a black bishop and …the white pawn on g2.
So it’s not only the black/ebony pieces that crack.
IMO this is far too many pieces with cracks …
Those are not cracks! Those are shadows! I think your eyes need to be checked Anon!
Your head may be cracked!

The lesson:
Don’t be a chess-idiot but rather look at the right photo!

I did see the photo of your mama’s nasty crack. Disgusting.
The lesson here is that you are a jack-ass. Go troll another chess blog and leave this one alone.

Simply take a closer look or have your own eyes checked, stupid.
