This picture was taken by the river in front of a historic bridge in Dresden. The participants were standing in front of the cars from the one of the sponsors – Honda.
I was shown the playing hall for the 2008 World Chess Olympiad in Dresden. It is very big and is located by the river. Dresden is a beautiful city with rich chess culture. I expect the 2008 Olympiad in Dresden to be very successful!
The organizers went out of their ways to make ALL the players feel welcome. They did a very professional job and they were willing to fix any problem immediately. I give this event 2 thumbs up!
Congratulations to Susan, but how do others here feel about the poser in front? Not all of the women players appear to approve. I’m not sure it is appropriate for the photo to pose like that. What do others here think?
I don’t know about you or others but I LOVE IT! Who is that girl? Is that Elizabeth Paehtz? Great gams. I do not see anything vulgar or crass with her pose, just a confident woman chess player. I do not believe in judging anyone. Let it be. All you need is love, love is all you need. There are greater and more important problems in this world to resolve than to worry about issues such as these in my opinion.
