Of course Nakamura has better results. Nakamura won Corus. Carlsen won nothing big.
But he did not break Kasparovs peak unofficial rating yet.. But he probably will!
Kasparov was at the top for so long. I think comparing rating of Kasparov & Magnus is not fair. However, I don’t understand the rating system fully. If GK enters the foray now, I think he can still be there. I personally don’t like GK’s autocratic attitude, but his contribution to chess is enormous. Magnus is not even near to Polgar sisters’ contribution yet.

Good heavens! Let us not foist the ‘greatest’ tag on Carlsen yet. He certainly is the strongest tournament player for the moment. But he has to stay the course! Can he beat say a Kramnik in a 12 game match for instance?. Truly the greatest was Bobby Fischer. He used his own head ( no superGM seconds,no Mr Fritz, Mr Houdini or Mr Rybka ) and demolished the awsome soviet machine!
Kaspy is unfit to be known as the best player ever. He cheated against Judith, behaved like a boor & a cad with Anand etc etc. Carlsen may one day earn that right. Bobby was certainly the greatest and close behind Morphy, Capablanca and Karpov!.
In terms of sheer talent Carlsen is the most natural gifted player ever, to be compared only with Capablanca in this regard.
Fischer and also Kasparov both were maniacs in a way, which Carlsen is absolutely not.
What about rating inflation? I really dont know how it occours, but it has to be considered.
The very greatest! And within now and 5 yrs he’ll break the magical barrier of ELO 2900. And there’s no tiny naky or anyone else who can stop him. He is from another planet. The Barca in chess. Just pure magic on the board. Magnus was 13 when it took the great Kasp 2 games for a win. Supurb!
