1. Re3 and white loses Q vs R or loses the game
fe:
1. … Qf2
2. Re1 Nf1
3. Qc5 ….
Re3 wins!
1….. Re3
2.Qf2 Re1+
3.Nf1 Rxf1+
4.Qxf1 Bxf1
5.Kxf1 Qd1+
6.Kg2 Qxc2+ wins.
Re3 (after 5 seconds…was it really that easy?)
1..Re3 deflects the white Q and leads to mate on g2 , or decisive material gain.
1. … Re3 seems to do the trick forcing the white queen to abandon the crucial g2 square leading to mate by Qg2 in the next move.
1. …Re3 then 2. …Re1
White’s option seems to be only Qf2 since the Queen must guard g2. The rook is immune from capture since otherwise Qg2++
No clue.
Knowing that there is supposed to be something to find, Re3 is an obvious candidate.
1…Re3 2. Qf2 (else …Qg2#) Re1+ and mate next. Very, very pretty combo worthy of the man who once pondered his first move as White for half an hour.
